All orders require a 50% deposit, this deposit secures your event date and is non-refundable. If a deposit has not been received in due time, the preliminary booking will fall away. If after a deposit payment you postpone the date of your event we will endeavour to accommodate your new date as best we can, but this is not guaranteed.
Please check your quote and invoice thoroughly to ensure the details are correct. All baked goods ordered from a photograph that has been produced by another cake maker, will be reproduced as a ‘Lexi’s Crumbs’ interpretation. All goods are made individually by hand so will not be an exact replica of the photograph. Extra care will always be taken to match requested colours and design. ‘Lexi’s Crumbs’ reserves the right to use any image of our baked goods at our discretion.
The balance of your order must be settled in full, either on collection or at the delivery venue.
Once your order has been collected, you assume all responsibility for the condition of the baked goods once it leaves my possession. Orders are to be collected at a pre-arranged date and time. All baked goods should be transported with extra care on the flattest service possible. Orders that are not collected at this arranged time will not be refunded and will be stored for a maximum of 48 hours.
All wedding cake quotes include delivery and set-up at your venue on the day. It is the clients responsibility to provide an appropriate environment and secure table for the cake. Optimal room temperature required is 24°C or below. Orders that require delivery and can not be delivered due to incorrect details or availability will be taken back to ‘Lexi’s Crumbs’ and stored for a maximum of 72 hours. Should you require a future delivery date, you will be held responsible for the additional delivery charge. Unfortunately no international shipping is available.
CAKE STAND HIRE
All hired equipment must be paid for in full prior to the event. This equipment must be returned within seven days of the hired date, unless alternative arrangements have been made prior to this date. The deposit will only be refunded once the hired equipment is returned in its original condition. Damage or breakage of this equipment will incur a loss or reduction of deposit refund, in order to cover costs of repair or replacement.
HOW TO CUT
Cakes are best cut with a sharp serrated knife. To yield the most slices from your cake it is best if the cake is sliced in rectangular pieces as opposed to the traditional wedge. See portion diagram below. Cover the uncut cake with cling wrap or keep in an airtight container.
Cakes may contain small amounts of inedible items such as wooden skewers/support dowels in tiered cakes and wires/toothpicks in fondant figurines & sugar flowers. It is the clients responsibility to ensure these items are removed before consumption.
STORAGE & BEST BEFORE DATE
Your baked goods will be perfectly fresh for the date of your event. We cannot guarantee the quality of our items if consumed more than 72 hours after the event. Our baked products do not contain any additives or preservatives so a prolonged shelf life is not guaranteed. It is best to store your baked goods in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, preferably in the box it was provided in. Do not refrigerate unless otherwise stated.
